The Tales of Aerym

A sword and sorcery adventure with both humorous and dark undertones

Memories of Tomorrow

The Tales of Aerym, Book One

For years, Aerym has felt that he was cursed, as if his very being was wrong. Some say that seeing isn’t always believing, but for Aerym, however, nothing could be farther from the truth. Fated to a life of catastrophe and ruin, the visions that plague Aerym's sleep always realize themselves, even when they depict his loved ones dying gruesome deaths before his eyes.

Now, years after he watched everyone and everything he had ever known burn to ash, Aerym finds himself with his sole remaining companion, Jasper. Lost and without purpose, they bide their time until the inevitable comes; when Aerym is warned of their imminent demise... Yet even now he doubts if he's strong enough to combat what's to come.

With little hope left for him and his friend, Aerym resigns to go far to the south, to the lands where magic is as common as war. To where he might get answers, and, if he's lucky, strength enough to gain control of his own life.

Memories and prophecies guide them on their path to salvation, but the past lies, and the future speaks only in tragedies.

Is it truly a blessing to know what's coming even if you're powerless to stop it?

THE FLAMES THAT BIND US

A Tales of Aerym Novella

To Aerym, the future contained foraging in the woods around his village, passing the time beneath great boughs of towering pines and bounding over moss-laden ground underfoot. Well, not anymore. For Aerym is visited in the night by a strange premonition, warning him of a fire so great it will burn his entire village to the ground and everyone along with it.

The only problem? Who is going to believe a nine year old boy who spends more time in the deep forest than with kids his own age? With his work cut out for him, Aerym fights to prevent the fires from consuming all that he knows and loves. But time is not on his side, and nobody else is, for that matter.

What is a dream, if not a sign of what is yet to come?

A new age dawns on the kingdoms of the Island Sea; Harvest looms on the black horizon, waiting for the right man to come along and claim it. Varre’s master just so happens to be that man. For many a year she has served the entity known as Shadowmonger, a cloaked figure sowing seeds of chaos, hoping they shall one day bear fruit and present the entirety of the Inland Sea to him on its knees.

Varre is his reaper.

Her current mission is to assassinate one of the most important figures of the Inlands Sea; the esteemed Emperor Naal of Luxia, ruler of the fertile lands set to lay claim to much of Harvest’s boons. Killing him would mean all out war. But that’s the point.

Bleeding Harvest

The Seabreaker's Cycle, Book One

Emile was a tanner’s boy, living day to day in his parent’s shop. Until Harvest came, and with it, war. Handed a uniform, a set of mail, and an arquebus, Emile was shipped across the Inland Sea to fight on the frontlines. Yet war is bloodier than he thought, and far, far less noble. Matters escalate when Emile learns of conspiracy, of his family and his ancient bloodline, and of hunters from coast to coast that harry him for a bygone throne.

Amina is a field surgeon, risking her life on the battlefield so that others can live to fight another day. Visiting her uncle in his Tower of Cognates, she stumbles upon a letter sent to one of the Inland Sea’s most important figures. It details the end of all days; betrayal shall run rampant, alliances will be struck between mortal enemies, and bastards and whoresons will be leveraged into kings. Now she must flee, hoping that her messages of warning make it in time.

Serilla sits upon a throne surrounded by enemies, both within her kingdom and without. When she learns of a plot to be deposed and replaced by an ancient heir, she vows to maintain what little peace can be salvaged; come crucible and cannonfire.

But peace is hard fought, and this one above all others bleeds with the promise of ruin.

Harvest blossoms in the shadows, and so too does death.
